This website uses no cookies and no tracking. The Coshirae iOS app collects no analytics and contains no third-party tracking SDKs. All app data lives inside your own private iCloud database.

2. Scope

This policy describes processing of personal data in connection with (a) the marketing website coshirae.vercel.app and (b) the Coshirae iOS application.

3. Categories of data processed

3.1 Website (server logs only)

When you visit this site, our hosting provider Vercel Inc. automatically records technical access data needed to deliver the page and protect the service: IP address (typically truncated), date and time of the request, requested URL, HTTP status, referrer (if sent by your browser) and user-agent string.

3.2 The Coshirae iOS app

The app does not transmit any personal data to us. All cosplay data, photos, tasks, materials, references, events and packing lists are stored on your device and synced — encrypted in transit and at rest — to your own private iCloud database via Apple CloudKit. We have no technical access to this data.

4. Purposes and legal basis

  • Website delivery and security — legitimate interest in operating a stable, secure website, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • App functionality — performance of contract / use of the app, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Personal data is not collected by us in this context because data never leaves your iCloud.

5. Retention

Server logs are retained for a short period (typically up to 30 days) and then deleted or aggregated. App data is retained as long as you keep it in iCloud and is deleted when you remove the app or delete the data yourself.

6. Recipients and international transfers

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. Server log processing may take place in the United States. The transfer is safeguarded by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework in which Vercel Inc. is certified, by Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable, and by Vercel's own technical and organisational measures.

iCloud sync uses Apple Inc.'s CloudKit service under your existing Apple ID. Apple is the data processor for that storage; we do not receive a copy.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access (Art. 15) — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you;
  • rectification (Art. 16);
  • erasure (Art. 17);
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18);
  • data portability (Art. 20);
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21);
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

8. Right to lodge a complaint

You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority for the controller is:

9. Automated decision-making

No automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

10. Cookies & tracking

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party fonts, pixels or scripts from external services.

11. Third-party content & trademarks

The in-app concept-art lookup sources reference images exclusively from Wikimedia Commons (commons.wikimedia.org) and filters every result to a free licence (Creative Commons or Public Domain). Each image is displayed in-app with on-screen attribution — author and licence — and a tap-through to the original Commons description page.

Short factual summary text may additionally come from Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org), and character/anime text metadata from MyAnimeList via the public Jikan API. No images are fetched from MyAnimeList or from non-Commons Wikipedia pages.

Anime, game, film and character names that you enter into Coshirae remain your own input. All trademarks, logos and characters belong to their respective rights holders; Coshirae claims no rights to them and is not affiliated with any of the studios or publishers behind them.

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes will be highlighted on the page.
